Launched on December 18, 2025, the Croydon Smile Hub serves as a year-round center for learning and community support. Co-founded by Benedict Selvaratnam of Freshfields Market and managed by the Croydon Business Association (CBA), the hub secured a 50-year lease at 50 George Street to ensure it remains a permanent fixture for local residents. One of its most impactful recent initiatives is a Digital Inclusion Programme, which provides 20 hours of free training to help beginners and the elderly navigate the online world. To directly tackle the “digital divide,” the hub is also distributing 500 free tablets to those who complete the curriculum. Beyond digital skills, the hub hosts weekly business growth workshops and distributed 200 sponsored presents to children from disadvantaged backgrounds during its first Christmas.
