Turf Projects – Artist Support Fund

Turf is Croydon’s homegrown artists charity.

As young creatives in 2013 we found a lack of opportunities and space in our hometown and so decided to set up our own.

Since then, we’ve supported the work of over 550 artists through free exhibitions, workshops and low cost studio space, two collectives: MOSS (a collective of artists living with learning disabilities) and Art Press (a collective of local 14–21-year-olds), a support programme for local students, family workshops & more.

Turf is fundamentally rooted to and committed to Croydon, aiming to show that arts organisations can be locally led & focused whilst still being nationally relevant.

Based in Croydon’s Whitgift Shopping Centre, we run Free exhibitions of local & national artists, Free creative workshops, Two local collectives; MOSS collective of local learning disabled artists and Art Press collective of Croydon artists aged 13-18, a support & residency programme for Croydon School of Art & BRIT school student and paid opportunities for artists, with a principle that artists should be fairly paid for their work and time. Since 2013 Turf has supported the work of over 500 artists.

Your support allows us to continue this work and ensure a creative legacy for Croydon.
